I just found out from a guest streamer on the gog twitch channel that this is the game I've been looking for my whole life :. Currently trying to get this game to work on a modern system. GOG, you're my only hope It sucks Microshaft just sits on these great properties like Fury3.

At least we have Terminal Velocity. No source port or scene TLC, of course I had the shareware for this game, but never played the full product. I remember playing it right after beating Terminal Velocity. Also wanted to add a comment - microsoft terminated both fury3 and hellbender trademarks somewhere in early 10s, meaning they're up for grabs. Great game as a child. I'm still upset because not able to find all Bion technology pieces and unlock the ultimate weapon! Good music too.

I'm still playing this, runs fine on W10 without cutscenes. Would be epic if true support was added. I think I still have the disk floating around somewhere.

But I fell in love with this game in my last few years of high school. It was the first of it's kind I had played and it was stupidly addictive for me! Got this as a freebie back in the day While arguable inferior to Descent I really enjoyed bouncing back n forth between Surface Strafing runs and Underground Fighter Dungeons. A great game. I liked it even better than Terminal Velocity.

AND it featured Gillian Andersen! I used to really enjoy the demo I had of this. Would be nice to have the full game. I was only able to play the demo and this game was pretty awesome. I voted for Hellbender as well, but since Microsoft is not on the best of terms with GOG, and this is a Microsoft Studios title, don't expect it to be up for sale anytime soon I have this game, got it to work on Windows 7 32bit, but now I have 64bit and it does not run anymore as there is no 16bit support anymore - shame on Microsft, not even the compatibility mode works anymore.

Got Fury3 to work though even under 64bit, strange or what? Ah yes! What is missing is some real engine noises. I know that sound dampening technology must improve in the future but if you turn off the soundtrack, empty space is a little too quiet for me. Great sound but like many games that use this type of soundtrack, it's not long enough. A few minutes into a mission, the soundtrack cuts off for a minute and then restarts. I also found it too loud and opted to turn it off after my first few missions.

Game designers should look to LucasArts for a hint on how to tie a soundtrack to the action. On Tie Fighter and other LucasArts games, the soundtracks change with the action as if you were watching a movie, not just listening to a CD track playing in the background. I was reviewing a final beta of Hellbender and I found it to be a bit buggy.

Controls went haywire on me a few times and the view commands seemed to get stuck in some kind of loop. Rebooting solved the problem but it was annoying. I'm sure these problems will be cleared up in the boxed version.

Hellbender is a fun action game if you have the systems to run it on. These days this is quickly becoming a cliche! If you liked Fury or Descent, you'll probably like Hellbender. How about some cheat codes? Screenshots from MobyGames. REplayer 0 point. Hi all, I have been struggling for weeks, trying to install Enemy Nations.

Now believe me, I love a good science fiction story, but do you need one here? If it was the evil empire of the Energizer Bunny, your mission would still be the same. Save those pages of the manual for helpful mission hints, guys. Back in reality land, Hellbender is the sequel to Microsoft's very first big-time computer game, Fury3, and it is a worthy sequel.

Hellbender is a sort of futuristic flight combat sim, wherein you fly a series of missions over and through increasingly hostile planets swarming with all sorts of other folks in similar flying machines whose job it is to shoot you down.

Picture yourself in the cramped cockpit of, say, Luke Skywalker's X-wing as you skim over the surface of an iron-oxide red alien planet. Strange spires and squat grey buildings mark outposts and military bases, and the sky swirls with purple clouds.

Out of nowhere, three red circles appear on your radar screen, and ten seconds later, metallic green alien ships crest the mountains to your left and come screaming toward you. It's beautiful to look at, as Microsoft has made the most of their Direct Draw and 3D rendering technology.

The topography of the landscapes and the butter-smooth flight dynamics alone are enough to recommend this game as a sci-fi flight sim, but the game, especially the multiplayer side of it, is quite worthy in itself. The storyline of Hellbender is pretty sketchy as to why, exactly, the bosses of the evil Bions live underground, but they do.

On the surface of the planets, you'll find a vast array of gun turrets, mechs, enemy ships, etc. If the latter part of that sounds a lot like Descent , it is.

On the plus side, this game can be a visual and sound experience, capable of completely overwhelming the senses. Unfortunately, you need some massive hardware to find this out. Let's venture backwards about a year and a half Turn back the clock to the summer of and check out a hot new game called Terminal Velocity. This was a great game, with hot graphics, ear-piercing sound, and chaotic action.

The plot was to lead a one man crusade against an evil, interstellar robotic army intent upon the conquest of Earth and its allied planets. The player would fly around several texture-mapped planets, moving towards various waypoints and targeting power stations, radar installations, and supply depots. Every once in a while, the player would see attacking fighters, which he or she could afterburner up into the clouds to dogfight.

Oh yes, and targets would vanish in fiery explosions, from being destroyed either by lasers, missiles, or collision. Sound familiar? It should. A few tweaks, some new packaging, and suddenly by Christmas, the renamed Microsoft Fury appeared on store shelves.
